2013 International Womens Night @ Divine Word University

On April 13th of 2013, the women in Divine Word University have joint hands together to commemorate the International Women Day which celebrated together by the women around the world.

The purpose of this day was to advocate on the voilence against women in every walks of life and also to promote the achievement of women in all walks of life. The purpose was clear and the women around the world focussing on it which DWU female students have been so fortunate to remember that day on a night.

The theme set out for the night was "Gender Collaboration" which aims to see men working together with the women to get things established in various level of organisation.The night actually turned out to be a meaningful one as all the departments in the university managed to took part through their representatives which is made up of both gender.Each department managed to put on dramas,dances,songs,role plays and short scripts which directly complement the theme for the night as well as reflecting on their own field.Much of creativity has been displayed which not only entertaining but in fact it portrays a positive sign of cooperation between the students in DWU.

The overall performance of the night was perfect in a sense that it involves both genders unlike the previous celebrations for the Interantnional Womens Day. Not only that, the night really educate the male student who participated to see the importance of workinng in collaboration with their female conterpart in every level of organisation.

For me, I am so impressed because my department actually came on alive with a show which was very short but captivating.Being a final year student, it was always my desire to see my department organised as much as possible for a common goal.That night really proves to me that there is sign of unity and cooperation which is healthy in the long run.

Meanwhile, judges were also around to identify the best performance from the department's presenations. Well, each department have their very own motive for the performance.However,the greatest happiness that I could admitted now is that my department, (Health Management Department) have took part to show case a very important ceremony which is the launcing of the National Health Plan 2011-2020.That really triggers a real sense of happiness by all the health management student of DWU because we are the policy implementers and the launcing of that policy is vital for us.We do not want to win but we do not want to let our department down and so we have to took part which is our very own motive and we did accomplished that which is our pride.

It was a great night that we had in DWU and I hope to the next night would be even much better than that.

Otherwise, every department in DWU have played an important role to the success of that night.Keep it up and do no limit your mind to do better the next time as you all know we are in a innovative university and so we've got to be innovative in everything we do together as members of DWU community.
