The Sad Moment of Divine Word University Ever

Ever since I came to Divine Word University in 2009, I felt lost and as everything was new and the thought of finding friends was what I could think of first.

There I came across students from different part of Papua New Guinea which really gives me a sense of nationality which I realy appreciated it.Not only that, I also met students from others parts of the world which make me to think gobally.

My first day in class was a bit tedious for the start as I am not used to being lectured. I continue to find ways to make myself comfortable in classes. Not only that, going to the students dinning hall is something I really dont want to get expose to for the first time.

Besides, I also noticed that most of my lectureres are foreigners and I also have linguistic barrier in communicaton during my first weeks of schooling. The introduction of computor was another thing that I have to master since DWU is a paper less policy education institution.

I went through alot of challenges which really makes me to feel uncomfortable but there is someone who is so keen to be kind to me throught his approach.Being a small first year student, he made me to feel that I am special and I have a place in this community. He made me to realised that I have  a potenitial to become a leader. He made me to understand that I can be a top academic performer despite the challenges I faced. He made me to accept that someone cared for my education more than my parents do.He made me to think globally and act locally. He made me to be a responsible and commited person apart from my other committment. He made me to develop a heart of serve as a servant. He has made so much for me and he meant so much to me.

He is like a father, a mentor, a leaders,a servant, and a very special friend to me in DWU that I would never ever forhet in my life time.He is none other than late Br. Andrew Simpson.

His sudden death was a great loss to me personlly I cannot bear the feelings of loosing him in my life. He is an Australian but has the heart for the Papua New Guineans. How could I find such a person like him.
